This beautiful and unusual sea glass and silver pendant will remind you of those trips to the seaside when you spent all day combing the beach for treasures! The pendant is a dark blue coloured sea glass piece which has been carved into a starfish shape and hung from a 16 inch silver chain with a lobster catch.
Materials: glass, sterling silver
size: 16" chain, starfish 1.5cm x 1cm (approx)
The piece has been handmade by Gaynor Hebden-Smith in her studio in Fife, Scotland. Gaynor creates contemporary jewellery combining reclaimed sea glass, sterling silver, metals, beads and crystals. Each piece of Scottish Sea Glass jewellery is completely unique, as no two pieces of sea glass are ever the same. As such the piece you receive may vary from the one shown in the image, but will be just a marvellous!
Sea glass is also known as mermaid tears or sea jewels. Gaynor collects the glass on the beaches and shores of Scotland as well as rivers, lochs and lakes. All her pieces of Scottish Sea Glass jewellery use genuine and naturally tumbled glass. The power of the sea turns the glass Gaynor uses in her jewellery from what was once ‘sea litter’ into beautifully pieces of frosted, magically shaped ‘sea treasure’.
