We (that's Anna Brook and Chris Marks) started iapetus gallery in 2005 as the result of our frustration with the mass-produced offerings of many jewellery and giftware shops. Our ambition was to bring unusual and unique handmade items to our home town of Malvern - items we'd love to shop for ourselves. We started in a little shop and specialised in jewellery (Anna is a trained silversmith) but rapidly expanded the range of handmade goodies to the eclectic collection you see here today.
In 2008 we moved to our current (much bigger) home, which now has three rooms full of handmade jewellery, gifts, home accessories, stationery, cards and gift wrapping from over 100 artists and small makers - most of which can be found here at iapetus.co.uk.
You'll find our address details at the bottom of the homepage...
We spend a lot of time carefully sourcing and selecting work for the gallery and iapetus.co.uk. We only sell items that we genuinely love and have a passion for ourselves. Everything you see at iapetus gallery and iapetus.co.uk has been crafted to a high standard, ethically sourced, be that made in the UK or fairly traded from our International artisans, and lastly is quirky and unusual - something which surprises our customers and puts a smile on their face!
At iapetus we also pride ourselves in the knowledge our team has of the products. Everyone undergoes a three-month training period to learn all about the crafts and their makers. We're more than happy to answer any questions you have, whether it's about our artists, how something is made or if you need help selecting the ideal gift for a loved one.

The name iapetus comes from Anna's youth, when a school trip to the Malvern Hills fired her young imagination with tales of the Iapetus Ocean. The ocean existed 380 million years ago with its shores in the Malvern area, evidence of which can still be discovered today in various places, including above the Gullet Quarry at the foot of the hills. This led to a lifelong empathy with the sea, with Anna heading for Falmouth University where she became a sculptor. Following work in a wildlife art gallery and later with a furniture maker, Anna trained in jewellery making and silversmithing, which today gives her a good eye for interesting, quality jewellery pieces for iapetus.
The inspiration for the logo also has an oceanic theme, drawn from the Nautilus, a sea creature, virtually unchanged for millions of years, which would have lived in the Iapetus Ocean. iapetus gallery itself stocks many items with a nautical theme.
