This tactile and unusual medium weight wavy silver ring by Adele Taylor has been given a hammered texture, oxidised and finished with three sections of 18ct gold wire wrapped around the band. The ring has a smooth finish inside making it very comfortable and would be a stylish ring for both a chap or a lady, especially if they love unusual and creative jewellery.
Please note: oxidisation is a surface treatment to intentionally blacken/darken the silver. As it is a non-permanent surface treatment, over time it will wear off into the grooves and textures of the jewellery. The speed of this depends on the amount of wear and type of jewellery (e.g. rings will lose the colour quicker than earrings). Eventually the true colour of the silver will shine through making each piece of oxidised jewellery unique to the wearer.
Materials: silver, 18ct gold
Size: Max depth - 4mm / Width of band - 3mm
Item Code: Y313
Adele Taylor comes from Sheffield and has been a regular at iapetus since we opened in 2005. Adele studied three-dimensional design, silversmithing and jewellery at Sheffield Polytechnic and established her jewellery business soon after with a grant from the Princes Youth Business Trust. The interplay of different colours of metal, both naturally occurring and chemically altered has always interested Adele. Consequently she continually experiments with the use of different metals such as silver, gold, copper and pewter.
What size do I need to order?
If you're buying a ring the safest way to get the size right is to go to a local jeweller and ask them to size your or the recipient's finger. This can be done either by measuring the finger or a ring that already fits correctly. Please be aware that the width of the band can change the size required, so be sure that the sizing is done with a band of similar width to the one you're buying. Wide/deep rings tend to fit tighter, dainty/slim rings tend to fit looser. We use 'centre' measurement, not 'leading edge' (your jeweller will know what this means!). If you need any advice please contact us.
The ring size I need is out of stock. Will it come into stock soon?
We generally only hold one size of each ring in stock, so orders for sizes out of stock will be made specifically for you by the artist once you have placed the order. Please select the size of ring you need from the ring size drop-down box.
When will I receive my ring once ordered?
Most rings will take between 3-5 weeks to make for you depending on the artist, time of year etc. However, if you do need it for a specific date please contact us and we'll do our best to get your ring to you in time.
What happens if I've ordered the wrong size?
Most of our rings can be resized by our artists. There will be a small charge to cover the time and postage costs for this. Please note: if your ring is a custom order/has been made for you, we cannot issue a refund. Please contact us to discuss your resizing requirements.
Can this ring be made in another metal?
Many of our rings can be made in other metals, i.e. silver, yellow gold, rose gold, white gold etc. Please contact us to discuss your requirements. If it is possible we will then come back to you with a quote and timescale for making the ring.
