This beautiful little sculpture by Linda Lovatt has a teal-coloured copper hare sitting neatly and contemplating the moon, on a vintage key and embellished with ceramic, wire and beads.
Each one of these assemblage pieces is an individual and a one-off, as Linda uses different treasures to make each one. They have a feeling of found objects woven together with a little magic to make a piece of a fairytale. An original and ever so pretty gift, this would look wonderful on a shelf or mantelpiece, or keeping watch on a bedside table.
Materials: copper, ceramic, beads, wire, glass
Size: H: 7cm; W: 7cm
About Linda Lovatt
Linda trained as an illustrator and, coming from a family of engineers, has a passion for metal working. This, together with her love of early Folk Art and French automata inspired her collection of jewellery and assemblage, which are made with soldered copper, chemical verdigris and fragments of the past.
Linda's garden provides a rich source of inspiration as well as finds such as broken pottery for her illustrative and quirky creations, complemented by pretty chipped cups, lonely saucers and redundant keys from antique and second hand shops. Her pieces have an intricate, fairytale feel and each is entirely unique.
