This fabulously chunky silver ring by Fi Mehra has been slightly flattened and melted to create a quirky, irregular texture. The piece is then oxidised to create the blackened effect which highlights the textures. It has a rustic look with a wonderfully tactile feel. It is polished and rounded on the inside making it oh so comfortable to wear.
The ring is perfect for any special occasion, be it a significant birthday, anniversary, wedding or simply because you love it! The piece has been crafted by Fi Mehra in her workshop in Sussex, so you know that each one has a special handmade touch that you just don't get with many rings on the high street.
Please note: oxidisation is a surface treatment to intentionally blacken/darken the silver. As it is a non-permanent surface treatment, over time it will wear off into the grooves and textures of the jewellery. The speed of this depends on the amount of wear and type of jewellery (e.g. rings will lose the colour quicker than earrings). Eventually the true colour of the silver will shine through making each piece of oxidised jewellery unique to the wearer.

Fi Mehra has been designing and making silver and gold jewellery for over 25 years. Fi's jewellery designs are inspired her travels, the British countryside, local history and, since moving nearer the to the sea, the coast. Everything Fi makes is crafted with love, care and good helping of quirkiness meaning each piece has it's own unique quality.
Based in Wiltshire for 20 years, Fi has recently moved to East Sussex where she designs and make all of her jewellery. Fi has been working with iapetus for over 10 years and we have built a fantastic and collaborative relationship. Many pieces of Fi's jewellery are exclusively sold by us including her amazing and varied silver charm collection.
If you're buying a ring the safest way to get the size right is to go to a local jeweller and ask them to size your or the recipient's finger. This can be done either by measuring the finger or a ring that already fits correctly. Please be aware that the width of the band can change the size required, so be sure that the sizing is done with a band of similar width to the one you're buying. Wide/deep rings tend to fit tighter, dainty/slim rings tend to fit looser. We use 'centre' measurement, not 'leading edge' (your jeweller will know what this means!). If you need any advice please contact us.
We generally only hold one size of each ring in stock, so orders for sizes out of stock will be made specifically for you by the artist once you have placed the order. Please select the size of ring you need from the ring size drop-down box.
Most rings will take between 3-5 weeks to make for you depending on the artist, time of year etc. However, if you do need it for a specific date please contact us and we'll do our best to get your ring to you in time.
Most of our rings can be resized by our artists. There will be a small charge to cover the time and postage costs for this. Please note: if your ring is a custom order/has been made for you, we cannot issue a refund. Please contact us to discuss your resizing requirements.
Many of our rings can be made in other metals, i.e. silver, yellow gold, rose gold, white gold etc. Please contact us to discuss your requirements. If it is possible we will then come back to you with a quote and timescale for making the ring.
