Verano are known for their vibrant colors, bold patterns, and handmade pottery. They're the perfect way to bring a touch of Mediterranean style to your home décor. And because they're handmade, no two pieces are exactly alike, making them even more special.
The word Verano is actually the Spanish word for summer, and there is no other name quite so fitting for this colourful selection of ceramics. It was in the heartland of southern Spain where the summer sun shines throughout the seasons that the folks at Verano Ceramics first created their gorgeous range of hand painted ceramics.

Verano Spanish Ceramics are made in the southern Spanish region of Andalucia where the history of making pots dates back to prehistoric times. The Spanish dinnerware is handcrafted and finished by the artist, and then finally signed before being fired in the kiln. The plates, bowls and jugs have a high quality feel due to the weight and feel of the glazed terracotta. The glaze creates a beautiful shine and vibrant elegance; the light reflecting off the intended drawn imprints of the design highlights the handmade quality.
The beautiful ceramics are handmade by the many skilled craftsmen and women who come from a long line of family tradition in ceramics and have lived in the small villages around the hills of Andalusia for many years. It's because of these skills passed down through the generations that they are able to create Verano's beautiful and rustic pieces.
The raw clay used for the ceramics is collected from the Spanish hills around the villages and then lovingly transformed into the the material used for their unique ceramics. These are then all expertly hand painted into the wonderful pieces that bring such brightness into the home.
Typically Spanish ceramics have always been painted with bold colours and patterned with detailed designs often featuring flowers, fruit and animals. The idea of these characterful ceramics was to be decorative as well as reliable tableware that you could use every day. Nowadays Spanish ceramics are enjoyed worldwide as tableware and decoration - it is also considered to be a symbol in Spain of tradition and heritage.

Introducing the brand new Burbujas collection to iapetus! While quite a jump from the usual vivid warm colour schemes we see from Verano, these ceramics are a gorgeous alternative for those who enjoy a more neutral or cool aesthetic. It's the stunning and unique patternation that decorates the tableware though that truly makes this range stand out.
The creation of Burbujas begins with the delicate process of blowing air through the blue paint, forming beautiful bubbles, this technique lends each piece its distinct character, ensuring that no two items are exactly alike. The air-blown paint is then carefully dipped onto the ceramic, enveloping it in a vivid blue hue that seamlessly blends with the mesmerizing patterns.
After the paint is applied, the ceramics are left to dry, allowing the colours to settle and intensify, creating a truly enchanting effect. The next step involves dipping each item in a transparent glaze, which enhances the depth and richness of the blue tones, while also providing a protective layer. This attention to detail guarantees that each piece in the Burbujas collection is not only visually stunning but also durable and functional.
