This beautiful and quirky glass sculpture is part of Kjell Engman’s Badlycka series, which means Bath Happiness. These charming figures were influenced by one of Kjell’s trips involving seeing a gospel choir. There he was inspired by a fantastic performer from whom he wanted to capture their strength and energy in glass. These tactile sculptures have a good amount of weight to them making them feel solid and safe - perfect for any mantelpiece or windowsill where they can catch the light.
“One of the women, who was both broader and at least a head taller than me, took hold of me, lifted me off the floor, and swept me into a dance. The floor swayed and I was impressed by the agile movements. The music, strength and energy filled me, almost with this sense of euphoria.” – Kjell Engman
Please note: All the pieces in this stunning collection are limited edition. Each free standing piece being expertly hand blown, polished, and hand painted. Therefore the piece you receive may vary slightly from the image on our website but will still be just as beautiful.
