Now that the festive season is over and we've all taken down our decs, it's easy to already miss the bright colours and sparkles - especially as the grey winter gloom still hangs over us. However, we think it's time we celebrate going into the New Year and the approach of Spring by brightening up our homes with gorgeous handmade homeware. A vibrant home is sure to improve your mood and set a fun beginning to 2023. For your ease, we've put together a little list of our most colourful artists and their amazing hand crafted products.
New to iapetus are these stunning lampshades and floor lamps by artist, Gillian Arnold. Gillian Arnold is a botanical artist and surface pattern designer who creates vibrant designs with pressed cuttings of British flowers in her Darlington studio workshop. Gillian collects the flowers herself which she then uses to make stunning and dramatic colourful compositions which are then transferred onto her products, making perfect to any fan of botany. Here are a couple of examples of her exciting work.
This stunning aqua magna sea green lampshade features exciting pops of burnt orange and vibrant yellows. Creating a serene underwater landscape of luminous colours and intriguing shapes, Aqua Magna, meaning big water, draws heavy inspiration from the natural flowing shapes and colours of the sea.
The felicity purple floral medium floor lamp truly brightens the home with a striking dark floral design featuring pops of pink and green throughout the design. A vibrant flash illuminates the dark exposing the beauty hidden in nature with brilliant pinks, rich purples and vibrant whites.
For those with a love for a bold pattern, this gorgeous branching astrantia green and blue lampshade would fit into your home perfectly. In the heat of the summer, nature goes into full bloom, the brilliant oranges and deep purples contrasting against the background.

Namaste is a growing British business with a strong ethical policy at its core. They buy these fantastic products from small scale producers who use largely natural materials and traditional techniques to produce beautiful and interesting articles. Everything is fairly traded. Namaste deals with all sorts of wonderful goodies but these handmade homeware pieces are a show stopper for sure.
This beautiful multi coloured patchwork velvet pouffe is a real statement piece for any home. Hand crafted with traditional needlework skills this is an impressive feature! Tantalisingly tactile and a feast for the eyes, this is practical décor never to be tired of!
This stunning hand crafted, fairly traded leila cotton printed rug with suzani embroidery is inspired by floral patterns. It's just the thing to add a splash of colour to your floor or why not hang it as a fabulous piece of art to jazz up a bare wall. Despite the vibrant tones, the colour palette is just right to fit in with any decor colour palette.
There's still a chill to the air at this time of year so why not curl up in bed or on the sofa with this gorgeous woven rainbow throw! This wonderfully soft throw has an eclectic colour combination with tassels. However, it doesn't need to be cold to enjoy this throw - it's perfect as a splash of colour in your living space all year round.

A stand-out artist for sure, Dawn Maciocia brings the wonders of the fantastic British wildlife into your home with her range of cushions, lampshades, and other small home accessories. Her work truly encapsulates the colour and fun of Spring with new details always to be discovered within each design. Here's a few of our favourites.
Bring a bit of lively fun into your home with this beautiful honesty hare faux suede lampshade featuring a cheerful hare character bounding through a Spring meadow full of lovely wild flowers. This stunning shade would look fantastic paired with one of our glass lamp bases from Jarapa (we'll cover them in a minute though).
Perfect for any bird lover, this pretty bottoms up cushion would look wonderful dressing up your favourite armchair or decorating your bed spread - giving the feel of a lovely countryside retreat. This sweet little cushion features a beautifully depicted pair of long-tail tits with their bottoms pointed up.
If you want your dining table to stand out we recommend Dawn's fantastic range of colourful placemats and coasters, such as this adorable ah... lovely placemat featuring a sweet little mouse smelling the daisies. We've mentioned them very briefly above but now it is their time to shine. Jarapa's beautiful recycled glass bottles and vases are sourced from a number of factories in Spain. Looking for a way to use the glassware more broadly through the home, Jarapa create their amazing lamps here in the UK using high quality fittings and local craftsmanship. Jarapa's vases and lamp bases come in all sorts of colours, shapes and sizes so we're sure there's a perfect fit for your home.
A newer addition to our Jarapa range, this stunning mulberry diamond recycled glass bottle lamp base would look brilliant on a side table or large windowsill. This decorative lamp base has been handmade from recycled glass bottle in a deep purple/pink hue and has been wired with a stylish cream cotton braided flex.
This charming little spiral recycled glass lamp base in topaz blue would certainly light up the room with its bright colouring alone. It would look brilliant with one of our smaller lampshades or even a funky large edison bulb. This little base would especially go down well with anyone with a more nautical theme to their home.
If you're a fan of colour but are looking for something a little lighter and subtle, this lovely simplicity recycled glass pink vase might be just what you needed. This lovely vase would look good on your sideboard or in the window and stood alone or holding a small bunch of flowers. It looks lovely with the natural light shining through and really picking out the colour.
