About Ruth Thorp
Ruth Thorp is a proud graduate of the 'Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design'. Working for 10 years as an architectural designer and illustrator she developed her own creative skills and projects on the side. In 2016 she quit her sensible salary paying job to become a full-time freelance illustrator.
Ruth’s illustrations are inspired by her natural instinct to dive head first into exploring new ideas, learning new skills and drawing from her surroundings. Her work has a strong emphasis on complex colours combined with bold graphics, both hand-drawn and vector based. The illustrations have clean lines a hold a sense of fun and energy.
