Hand Cut Oak Coaster - Running Hare by Beamers Designs

Hand Cut Oak Coaster - Running Hare by Beamers Designs

This beautifully hand crafted oak coaster is just the thing to pop your favorite mug on. Featuring a delightful running hare design, the coaster is hand cut from English oak using a traditional fret saw by Phil Jackson - we promise they are not laser-cut! They are finished with a food safe teak oil.

As the coaster is hand cut using natural oak the one you receive may vary in finish and grain to that shown here. However it will be just as wonderful and variety is part of the joy of buying handmade!

When not in use as a coaster why not pop them on a bit of ribbon to make a jolly lovely hanging decoration.

Materials: English Oak

Size: Approx 8mm thick, 105mm round

About Beamers Designs

Phil Jackson, aka Beamers Designs, has worked in the creative industries for over three decades using traditional fretwork techniques. Based in rural Herefordshire, Phil produces a wide variety of animal-inspired gifts and oak domestic ware including pot stands (trivets), coasters and serving platters.

Phil’s skillfully hand crafted fretwork pieces are made from locally sourced repurposed English oak. They are individually hand cut from designs created in-house by Mrs Beamers using old-school techniques of pen and pencil. They are sealed with food-safe oils.

How do I look after my coaster?

They have been treated with teak oil so generally can be left alone, but they can be lightly surface wiped with a damp (NOT WET) cloth and revitalized with a light application of food-safe oil (with a preservative) and buffed with a soft cloth. If not being used for food use they can be polished with wood polish following the manufacturer's instruction.

Will they break easily?

They are pretty resilient in normal use , but wood is a natural product with fault lines and flaws so may crack if dropped onto a hard surface.
